All ID products help in improving medical and pharmaceutical processes. For one, by optimizing the cost-efficiency of those processes (controlling and coding) and, for another, by warning of adverse events and checking for plausibilities (eMedication). These products are based upon the medical semantic network ID MACS® and the terminology server ID LOGIK®. Both AI components improve work in hospitals, making it more efficient and more accurate.

Provides a warning when a patient’s medication needs to be adjusted due to new laboratory results, or provides a reminder if the diagnosis for a patient has not yet been recorded in full: With the correct training, and fed with the relevant data and rules, technology can help to simplify and improve the quality of the complex and time-pressured work in hospitals. ID developed the ID MACS® and ID LOGIK® products on the basis of various methods of artificial intelligence. They combine medical and pharmaceutical knowledge and facts with Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods. The distinguishing features of each specialist department, hospital, and any country-specific aspects are mapped using a rule engine. This orchestra of AI components is conducted by ID LOGIK®. Ultimately, the music then plays throughout the entire hospital, whether in the operating theaters, wards, administration, pharmacy, or IT department: With its plausibility checks, analyses, warnings, and recommendations, the technology can provide support to all areas.

An example: The ID software ID clinical context coding (ID CCC) uses the services of ID LOGIK®. Thanks to the integrated NLP pipeline, it is even able to read scanned free-text documents, and thanks to ID MACS®, the content can be searched according to specific questions. As a result, the coding specialists obtain a list of services that can be documented for a patient. Practical and revenue-related, ensuring that both invoicing and medical documentation are more complete and more accurate.
